Long Time, No Sea:)

OK, so it has been a while as we get the hang of this media.....

And now for my Shelfari! Added just today, I think I love it! and I will continue to add all the books we have here at Wild Island Resorts, although some are just on my wish list. I love seeing my books there and don't mind sharing them with our guests when they come to visit. Now here is a way to know what you can read on vacation without having to lug lots of books through the airport!! Although if you are a book person you won't be caught dead without at least a book or two to read at the airport or on the plane, or a paperback to carry in your beach bag.....although, I have done it soooo many times, I know....... You will be mesmerised by the color of the water, the cool breezes, the lapping of the waves at your toes, and all the little pieces of shell particulate that make up the gorgeous sandy beaches of the Bahamas, and you won't get past page three, if you even take it out of your bag:) Yeah, I am a book person.....and yeah, I still bring one along.....but I know I won't make it far, because it always happens to me, too:)

Oh, and we have a copy of Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh in each of our Lubbers' Landing cottages.....but she says the exact same thing.........

See you when we sea you:)
and don't forget to bring a book....or not!

And thanks to my fabulous friend KiKi for having such a rip-roaring time at the beach with me!!!

I am sure there are more clear water pictures to come, I am finding tons as I sort through and organize our pictures...wish me luck!

And, as always, wish you were here!

Beach hopping and Pete's Pub

We made some great friends last week, honeymooners from Alabama/Mississippi!
We were lucky that they wanted
to spend a day with us beach hopping and making a trip down
to Pete's Pub, Little Harbour !

We found a deserted beach and anchored for a picnic and lots of sun and good times.

Once we had gotten a little too much sun, we headed down to Pete's Pub for more sun! and more beach combing.......

The gorgeous beach on the ocean at Little Harbour, relaxing and peaceful, contemplative and very restorative:

Perfect spot for newlyweds....................

We had so much fun, but eventually we had to call it a day and head back home to our island of Lubbers' Quarters......and then an impromptu pizza run to Sea Spray Resort for dinner where Jammin' Jan was performing!

And then, the next morning, we had to say goodbye to our new friends....hopefully, we will see them again next year for their first anniversary, if not before!

Well, we hope to post more outings and activities soon, so until then, we miss you and look forward to having you here whenever any of you can make it, for another island getaway!

Dinner at Lubbers' Landing

Fish for Dinner! And Pineapple Coconut Soup...
The guys went for dinner and here is the amberjack they caught...

So on the grill went the potatoes, asparagus with lemon juice and olive oil and the amberjack, with some shrimp skewers. Everyone pitched in to help and it was a lot of Fun! Actually, that was the motto for the evening, It's all about the Fun! So, of course we had to make our signature Pineapple Seafood Bowls, recipe courtesy of Sandra Lee:

The loaded grill...

It was all so delicious....coconut milk, pineapple, hot chili sesame oil, fresh asparagus, and cilantro with hot curry seasoning, blended up (uncooked for me and anyone else to try), and then the seafood was added individually to taste: shrimp marinated in wasabayaki sauce, the grilled amberjack and the lemon asparagus, with fresh cilantro on top, yummmm! And it was beautiful!
We talked and ate, swapping stories, and then watched the moon come up and played Jenga and planned another day.....

Reel Adventures TV

Hi everyone!
Just a quick note about our upcoming spot on the TV show Reel Adventures! Here is the link to the listings but they say it will air this weekend so look for it!
The film crew was here in April and we had lots of fun, so we are excited to see how it turned out.
We have been away to Florida for a relaxing family visit, and we took lots of pictures that I will be organizing and hope to share soon!
Have a wonderful day.....

HopeTown Lighthouse

Took some pictures of the HopeTown Lighthouse this week, as I enjoyed sightseeing with visiting family and friends. This red and white candy-striped lighthouse is so wonderful, is fully operational and is the subject of countless postcards and works of art....Enjoy!

I love the green color of these inner workings......
